PE Spanish Teachers Visit

Primary school PE teachers from Bages, an area near Barcelona visited Parkgate Junior School. They have been learning about our school, the PE curriculum, observed year 6 PE lesson and enjoyed having a jacket potato for their lunch.  They also have been teaching " colpbol" or hit-ball, a sport very popular in Spanish schools. All year 5’s have thoroughly enjoyed learning and practising this new sport.

This project has its continuity with the eTwinning with one of the schools,  called the FEDAC Monistrol de Montserrat. Students have prepared a video in English explaining how to play colpbol. Year 5's have also been working in Sportsmanship and zones of Regulation and will be explaining how to play netball to the students in this school in Spanish during the summer term.

Consell Esportiu del Bages it the Non profit organisation that encourages professional development for PE teachers in the Bages area as well as organising many amateur sports leagues.
