Day 2 of activities down and the children are having a ball!
The rain yesterday morning cleared quickly and although there were a couple more showers, the weather didn't stop us from doing any of our activities.
Yesterday we had zip wire and quad biking to kick off the morning.
While the girls had a screaming competition on the zip wire, the boys were running back as quick as they could with the line, to ensure a second go. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed this activity.
With the quad biking, most children managed to steer between the tyres and navigate their quad around the course however there are some concerns about certain children's driving skills!
During the afternoon children completed Jacobs’s ladder, in small teams. Everyone worked very well together to hoist themselves up the giant ladder and supporters on the ground gave great encouragement. Once again, many children conquered their fears and should feel very proud of their achievements.
The highlight of the trip.... Skiing
Everyone loved the skiing and we were impressed by how well the children picked it up. Of course there were a few falls, but it was all part of the fun. Unfortunately we did have to wear some very sweaty and smelly gloves to protect our hands but the children were so excited that they didn't even complain at all. By this stage in the afternoon, the weather had got quite humid and because we had to wear long sleeves, the children were very hot and sweaty afterwards. So, a quick shower order was given.
In the evening everyone enjoyed some delicious birthday cake before burning off some more energy with a team game of around the world, where children set off on a hunt to locate flags and country facts.
We will all have our feet firmly on the ground for today's activities of challenge course, orienteering, mountain biking and we get to out our Bear Grills skills to the test later with a bit of survivor.
The weather today is a little overcast and a bit chilly....perfect for all the running around we will be doing!
