World Book Day
The children enjoyed a special World Book Day assembly
and were given a WBD book, WBD token and a bookmark to take home. Information on how to use the tokens is given on them. They can be used in Waterstones bookshop and WHSmith in town and most major supermarkets.
Some of our children were spotted doing D.E.A.R. (Drop Everything And Read)!
And to to make sure staff didn't miss out, they were given a WBD book and bookmark so they could join in the celebrations! 📚
Wooden Spoon Book Character
To celebrate World Book Day, the children were invited to create a book character out of a wooden spoon. We had amazing entries to the competition with a good variety of characters - thank you so much to EVERYONE who took part.
Our winners are: Charlie and Arlen (Year 3), Eve, Patrick and Spike (Year 4), Zaynab and Hannah (Year 5), Ariela and Maariyah (Year 6).
You can the photos of all the wooden spoons in the gallery tab of the website.
