Year 6 PGL/Activity Week
We look forward to welcoming back our Year 6 children and staff. They have had a really busy fun filled week with lots of exciting new challenges. We have been entertained by the daily blog which had been posted up on the school website. Please have a look under "Latest News".
The Year 6s in school this week took part in an activity week like no other. They began the week exploring all things technology. They programmed robots, designed printable 3D objects and followed code along tutorials to code the Micro:bit mini computers we have in school. With a few last minute changes on Tuesday and Wednesday we remained positive and started a cross-curricular international project, comparing cathedrals from around the world and an enterprise project where pupils got to generate and choose a small business idea. Ideas they had ranged from a lemonade stand to a 3D printed keyring factory. On Thursday Year 6s created their own PE games and activities that they expertly ran for the year 3s to enjoy as well as took part in the local River Colne project ran by Groundwork East. They had lots of fun identifying insects, crustaceans and arachnids from the sample water of the River Colne brought into school. They finished of the week bringing their enterprise projects to life and tried their best to raise the most money and have the most successful business idea.
