Bee Talk Year 3
Fri 09 Jul 2021Year 3 give a big thank you to Sophia S in 3 Robin and her parents for the fascinating talk that we had in school this Wednesday all about
bees and beekeeping. Year 3 got to try on a beekeeping outfit, explore an interactive bee hive, learn about the different roles that bees have in a colony, handle parts of an empty hive and even got to try some honey from the bees kept by Sophia and her family. We can report that it was delicious! -
Blue Peter Climate Heroes
Fri 09 Jul 2021Well done to all the children that received their Blue Peter “Green” badge at school this week. They all worked very hard to complete the extra challenges at home in order to earn the badge. It was great to
see that every class got involved and each class has received a
certificate to celebrate their efforts towards being a climate hero in school as well. Please check your Google classroom stream for more information about how to get a badge or how to use the badge you have earned. -
PGL - We're coming home, we're coming home...!!
Fri 02 Jul 2021All good things must come to an end and so we must leave PGL… but not without a few more activities first!
This morning we did either Jacob’s Ladder or Vertical Challenge depending on what we did yesterday. Then, keeping our harnesses on we went to Abseiling - lowering ourselves down a vertical wall by a rope.
After a yummy burger lunch, we loaded up and now are on our way back home. See you in a couple of hours! We know you can’t wait for our muddy shoes and dirty laundry! -
Year 6 Activity Week
Fri 02 Jul 2021Year 6 pupils at school this week have had a brilliant time! They started the week with a robotics day and ended with a rather soggy water fight. They have managed to do some gardening, a HUGE artwork and even cook a 4 course meal.

PGL Day 4
Fri 02 Jul 2021Phew! What a scorcher it turned out to be!
After our (slightly) early night, we tucked into our breakfast before getting ready for our morning activities. Some of us did Vertical Challenge, a climbing assault course involving ladders, tyres, a climbing wall and netting. Our arms were aching by the end! Other groups did Sensory Trail where we made our way through the woods blindfolded, helped only by the PGL staff and our own communication skills.Another morning activity was Jacobs Ladder, a climbing challenge involving logs, harnesses and lots of teamwork!
We even had a special guest this morning… Mrs Pipe! (We think she had almost as much fun watching us as we had taking part!)
We definitely earned our lunch today!
This afternoon we took flying lessons on the zip wire and practised our Robin Hood impressions in archery.
Now we’re enjoying another run around the site for the Passport to the World, learning lots of fun facts about different countries. -
PGL Day 3
Thu 01 Jul 2021And so ends Day 3!
The sleepiness was definitely setting in, but we didn’t let that stop us!
After another hearty breakfast, we headed out to duck-poo lake for raft building where we got soaked through, then had a quick shower and worked through some mind bending team puzzles in Problem Solving.
The afternoon saw us back in our harnesses for the Giant Swing (which gave us giant wedgies) then venturing out on our own around the site for Orienteering!
In the evening we played a giant game of Cluedo with all the PGL staff dressed in silly costumes. They were happy to give us clues… for the price of a joke, a dance routine, a chant, or something just as silly.
Absolutely exhausted, we’ve gone up to bed for an early night.
