21st November 2025
Dear Parents/Carers,
Headteacher
As you all may know, Mrs Pipe is retiring at the end of this term and the Governors are working with Herts for Learning to recruit a new headteacher. We will have an experienced interim Headteacher from January 2025, whilst we find a permanent replacement. We are committed to finding the right person to lead our school community, and we will keep you informed as soon as there are further developments.
What the Governors Have Been Up To
As governors, our main role is to support the school’s leadership team while also asking the right questions to help the school keep moving forward. This term, we have spent time looking closely at how pupils are progressing, how the curriculum is developing, and how the school is continuing to support children’s wellbeing and behaviour. We have been pleased to see real strengths in the way learning is delivered and how children are encouraged to be independent, confident learners. The staff work incredibly hard to create a nurturing
environment where all pupils feel included, supported and challenged – and that really comes across when we visit.
And finally...
Thank you to all the staff for another fantastic term of dedication and care, and to all our children for their hard work and wonderful achievements. We would also like to thank parents for their continued support. As governors, we are so proud to play a part in such a warm and welcoming school community.
Yours Sincerely,
Governors,
Parkgate Junior School
