On Wednesday evening, 30 year 5 children travelled to London, to the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where they participated in a concert alongside 350 children from around London, and also the London Schools' Symphony Orchestra (for children aged 13-17).

It was an amazing experience for the children to see a real-life orchestra and play their recorders and violins with them! They also sang songs in Spanish and Hindi which they had been learning at school. We are so proud of the dedication they have shown to practising  - it has not been easy. A special thanks to the parents who accompanied us to London and back via train and tube.

Congratulations to this month’s Maths Challenge winners and to the winners of the TT Rockstars Battle of the Bands winners. You all worked really hard!

We have had a fun morning being entertained here at Parkgate Junior School, who knew how talented our wonderful children were!

The PTA held a very successful spring arts session on Monday. The children loved painting bunny decorations which they then took home.

This week some of our year five children have braved the weather come rain or shine taking part in their bikeability course learning how to ride safely on the roads.

Year 5 put on an Oscar worthy performance this week of the Pied Piper of Hamelin. Thank you to all of the families that came to support the children, we’re sure you can agree that they are all stars in the making.

Thank you to all of the families that have helped the children to break the rules today and to raise money for Red Nose Day - Comic Relief. So far your generosity has helped us raise nearly £250! That is a lot of broken rules!

On Thursday 20th March Parkgate Football team played against Holy Rood School. There were great tackles and skills on the ball. The final score was 4-2 to Holy Rood. Super performance from both sides!

On Tuesday we enjoyed live performances from our children who learn to play an instrument at school and from our school choir.  Well done to all of our soloists and group performers. It was lovely to see how much you enjoy playing your instruments and how hard you have worked.
