Attack of the Zombies!
The day started grey and drizzly which echoed our bleary-eyed state.
The teachers had to wake us up several times before we eventually shuffled to the canteen where we met Mrs Pipe for breakfast.
Feeling a bit bouncier, we then headed to our morning activities which were a combination of Survivor, Trapeze (where we climbed to the top of a tall pole and threw ourselves into the air like trapeze artists), Vertical Challenge (where we climbed up ladders, tyres and ropes) and Sensory Trail (in which our listening and communication skills were put to the test as we navigated an obstacle course blindfolded!).
We had definitely earned our lunch and a bit of play time. But very soon the sun came out and we were back out on activities, this time a combination of Disc Golf (basically golf with frisbees), vertical challenge or Jacobs Ladder, another climbing activity in which we worked as a team to climb up a series of logs.
We’re really learning how to put on and take off harnesses! And we’ve even found some time to learn our lines and practise our songs for the play!
After dinner, our group leader Ellie gave us all a room inspection. She and Miss Osborne were amazed by how clean and tidy our rooms were, so now there’s no excuse for being untidy when we get home!
We sung (bellowed) at the top of our lungs during our Campfire session, then had a chance to toast marshmallows.
Now we’re off to bed, exhausted, smoky and a little hoarse. But will that stop us from having a midnight chat?
What do you think…?
