Library Assistants
Pupil Library Assistants
Welcome to our Pupil Library Assistant's page! You'll find information about becoming a Pupil Library Assistant here, as well as information for those already doing this sought-after job.
Applying for the Job
At the start of each Autumn term, Mrs Parr will give an application form and job description to any children in Year 5 who have expressed an interest in becoming a Library Assistant. You can find these below. All applicants will receive a letter, whether they have been successful or not. There are 4 posts available.
This is a much sought-after job, with lots of responsibilities. You'll learn new skills and work as part of a team to support the library. There will also be a chance to help with events like Book Swaps and you will promote reading and the library to the rest of the school. There will also be a farewell lunchtime party at the end of the Summer Term (Covid permitting).
2024-25 Pupil Library Assistants
This is our lovely bunch of Library Assistants for this year!
We've achieved our Silver level!
What have we been doing so far?
Well, we're working towards Gold level in our training. As well as our training and daily responsibilities, we also...
...prepared packs for World Book Day to give out to all the children
...helped out at an after-school event 'More Than Words', all about unusually constructed books
...'processed' (barcoded, stamped, labelled, put plastic covers on) LOTS of new books
...ran our very popular second-hand book sale
...helped out at our fantastic after-school event 'Fabulous Fables and Mystical Dragons' (in this photo we're preparing the wooden spoons for the children to make them into dragons!)
... enjoyed our Christmas party after all our hard work so far!
Mrs Lodge is a school teacher who has created a small shelving game for your to try. She wanted a fun way for pupils to practice putting books in order. See if you can put the books in the right order! Tip: forget the FIC in front of the letters.
