Library Assistants
Pupil Library Assistants
Welcome to our Pupil Library Assistant's page! You'll find information about becoming a Pupil Library Assistant here, as well as information for those already doing this sought-after job.
Applying for the Job
At the start of each Autumn term, Mrs Parr will give an application form and job description to any children in Year 5 who have expressed an interest in becoming a Library Assistant. You can find these below. All applicants will receive a letter, whether they have been successful or not. There are 4 posts available.
This is a much sought-after job, with lots of responsibilities. You'll learn new skills and work as part of a team to support the library. There will also be a chance to help with events like Book Swaps and you will promote reading and the library to the rest of the school. There will also be a farewell lunchtime party at the end of the Summer Term (Covid permitting).
2023-24 Pupil Library Assistants
This is our lovely bunch of Library Assistants for this year!
What have we been doing so far?
Well, we've achieved our Bronze and Silver levels in our training and are on course to achieve our Gold level very soon. As well as our training and daily responsibilities, we also...
...ran our very popular second-hand book sale.
...put together our special World Book Day packs for all the children. They received a WBD book to keep, a WBD token and a lovely bookmark, all presented in a jazzy coloured bag.
...helped out at our fabulous after school Non-Fiction event all about animals.
...recommended books to other children.
...celebrated our successful first term and hard work with a fun-filled Christmassy party which included lots of yummy treats and the gift of a book of our choice.
Mrs Lodge is a school teacher who has created a small shelving game for your to try. She wanted a fun way for pupils to practice putting books in order. See if you can put the books in the right order! Tip: forget the FIC in front of the letters.
