Year 6 - County Cricket Final in Ware
Fri 24 Jun 2022On the 20th June we went to play in the County Cricket Final in Ware. We were in Pool A and we played 4 extremely good teams. In the first match we played Simon Balle School and tried as hard as we could. Unfortunately, the score was 117—83 to them. In the second match we lost again, despite our best efforts. Thankfully in the 3rd game, we won with 107 runs, but it wasn’t enough to win. In the last match, we lost again but it was extremely close. We all tried our hardest but we came 3rd in our Pool, which meals we came either 5th or 6th in the County from over 50 schools which took part.

Fri 24 Jun 2022Year 5 had a very successful sleepover yesterday evening. They enjoyed a lovely time down at the Watford Rugby Club playing games—luckily the weather held off. They returned to school where we ate pizza and lots of other goodies, and afterwards sang campfire songs and we watched film before bed, although minimal sleep in some rooms!

Some of the activities are laid out for classroom use but can easily be done at home. Choose an activity to have a go at or make up your own Jubilee themed one. Fri 10 Jun 2022Yesterday some of our Year 6 students progressed to the District Cricket Final!
One of the students who attended wrote: When we got to Watford Cricket Club and we trained for a bit and then our first match started. We batted first and scored lots of fours and sixes. After that we bowled and we got our opponent's out a few times and we found out that we won by 46 points. The second match we lost but we tried our hardest. For our last match we luckily beat them by 4 points. In the end we came 2nd out of 32 schools. We had a brilliant day and it was lots of fun. By Spike and the Cricket team.
