The London Marathon - Maths Challenge
Fri 30 Sep 2022This weekend is the London Marathon, to celebrate this, we are going to link it to our maths challenge this month. Your task is to choose a marathon from around the world and discover some amazing number facts about it. Produce a poster to present your facts. Here are some ideas to get you started: Find out about distance in miles and then convert it into kilometres. Can you work out what that is in metres? What about centimetres? On average, how many steps does it take to complete the marathon? How many runners crossed the finish line? Can you compare that with the year before? Who finished fastest? What was the time? What was the difference between the fastest and slowest time? Who has the world record? What time did they run it in? Can you compare the time difference between the fastest male and the fastest female? Can you find out an unusual maths related fact? Bring your posters in by Monday 31st October (after half term).

Queen Elizabeth ll Funeral on Monday 19th Sept —School Closed
Fri 16 Sep 2022This has been such a remarkable week. We have shown pictures, watched short films, and had discussions about the Queen’s life. We have talked a lot about the history and I have asked the children to watch part of the funeral because it is history-in-action.
Please be advised that Monday 19.9 has been declared a Bank Holiday due to Queen Elizabeth II's funeral, therefore the school will be closed on that day.

Queen Elizabeth II.
Fri 09 Sep 2022This morning in assembly we lit a candle in memory of the Queen. The children talked in class, celebrating the Queen’s life. We do not know the arrangements for the funeral as yet, but will let you know when we are told. 96 years of duty is such a long time and it seems we only just celebrated her Platinum Jubilee.
We thought it would be nice to share some of the photos from the Jubilee celebrations with you.
