Day 2 blog
Tue 05 Jul 2022The real fun begins!
After a very excited and sleepless night we tumbled out of bed for breakfast then straight out for our first activity: Passport To The World in which we worked in small groups to search all around the grounds for clues about different countries. We definitely learned a lot!
After that we got into harnesses for the first time to do the Trapeze. We climbed a really high wooden pole, then launched ourselves off in a leap of faith. It was terrifying but awesome!
After lunch, we split groups and either did rifle shooting or Jacobs Ladder where we had to work in teams of 3 to climb up some huge logs. Then we swapped and did the other activity.
We were well and truly ready for dinner after all that climbing and now we are having great fun at the quiz!
I think we will all be in need of a good nights sleep tonight!
Speak to you tomorrow!!

Day 1 PGL
Mon 04 Jul 2022Aaaaaaaand we're off!
After saying goodbye to parents we had a good journey to Caythorpe Court, stopping at Peterborough services for lunch.
We made great time and arrived a little early so while we were waiting for our rooms to be ready we took a tour of the site and played a few games on the field. We learned a great new game involving princesses, knights and horses! (Ask us about it when we get back!)
After a delicious (and much needed) dinner, we headed out for our evening activity- Wacky Races. Some of our races involved pretending to be dinosaurs, old people, ballerinas and zombies! It was hilarious!
Anyway, we're off to bed now but we're all so excited I don't think we'll get much sleep!
Speak to you tomorrow!

Bee Workshop
Fri 01 Jul 2022On Thursday afternoon, Year 3 took part in a workshop about pollinators and learnt a lot from Parkgate parent Mrs Sood about bees and beekeeping. As well as learning a lot and sharing their knowledge of pollinators from Science, Year 3 also had the chance to try on beekeeping outfits, explore a demonstration beehive, look up close at bees under a microscope and even try some of the honey that the Mrs Sood's bees have made. Year 3 thoroughly enjoyed it and were positively buzzing with enjoyment during the afternoon. Thank you, Mrs Sood.
