Afternoon day 1
Mon 23 May 2022Today has been a bit of a blur. We arrived to a warm welcome and had a tour of the school from Klas 6, followed by Fika. The school.had set out activities on the playground. We danced, painted, played football, did some orienteering, made bracelets and played a bit of chess.
After meatballs for lunch we attended lessons. Some did sewing and textiles, some woodwork and others found out about free access to nature. Stephan is a natural on the sewing machine! Aila braved the dance floor with Miss Ryan and Raina spent hours creating a felt rabbit. Preslav has impressed us with his new pyrography skills.
Our children have filled us with pride today.
We have some down time now and then we are off for a walk around Tarnsjo. -

Day 1
Sun 22 May 2022
We are now heading to meet up with the families of the children for dinner. What a day we have had. Our flight seemed to go very quickly and the children all asked for lunch, before realising it was only 9:30am. We headed to Uppsala- which is a wonderful town. The cathedral was incredible, followed by our first Fika (thank you to Maria).
We also explored the castle and the old town. Our very tired feet are now heading for Tarnsjo and our host families. More updates to follow.... -
